2020 Winter Runway Trends To Get On Board With

We’re already in the middle of the coldest season of the year. But if you haven’t exactly got your Winter fashion routine down pat, it isn’t too late to catch up on the hottest Fall/Winter 2019-2020 trends. What’s interesting this season is that we’re seeing many contrasting trends on the runway: from bourgeois VS punk spirit to preppy VS dominatrix, this season’s fashion themes have been inspired by an array of eras and movements. Yet, somehow the sheer imperfectness of this mix makes for the perfect winter wardrobe.

Let’s start with bourgeois fashion, which dominated the latest runway collections. In a clear nod to the late 1970s – early 1980s style, the trend is all about elegance and precision. A proper bourgeois capsule wardrobe would incorporate refined silhouettes, blazers, pleated trousers, and trench coats, making for the ideal night day-to-day business wardrobe.

Another trend that’s making its presence known is punk fashion. It’s a flashback to the grungy, androgynous style of the late 1980s and early 1990s that makes us seriously nostalgic for Nirvana and plaid everything. If you’re into standing out, this is definitely the seasonal look to get on board with. Bonus: you’ll get to rock that vintage Alexander McQueen studded jacket you keep at the back of your closet. Because let’s be real, we were all just waiting for those to come back in style again.
