Woman Saves Wild Sable From A Terrible Fate
The fur industry cruelly takes the lives of many animals each year. Fortunately, one Russian woman is doing her small part to change that. So what did she do next? Well, she decided to try and save one of these adorable creatures from a terrible fate. Now, Zhenya and Umora live happily together. Check out some of their special moments below.
Zhenya was determined to do more than just sit around and feel sorry for the poor creature. Once she realized she could save a life by purchasing one from a fur farm, that’s exactly what she did.
The Sad Reality
There is a high demand in Russia for sable fur, which is used to produce things like bedspreads and underwear. In the country alone, there are around 70 farms that raise and kill these types of wild animals for their fur.
Nice But Naughty
According to Zhenya, Umora is quite active and mischevious and likes to steal little things. Due to her traumatic life on the fur farm, she can also be quite emotional.
A Bit Of Advice
As much as she loves her furry new friend, Zhenya actually advises against keeping a wild sable as a pet, warning that it takes a lot of time and patience until these creatures begin to adjust to life in a new home.
