Happy National Chocolate Parfait Day

Did you know that May 1st is the day we celebrate National Chocolate Parfait Day? Well either way, now you know! It’s one of the most exciting food holidays, because really what could be more dreamy than finishing off your day with a delicious chocolate parfait?

Parfait means perfect in French, which should come of no surprise, since this treat is nothing short of perfect.  There are several variations of parfaits. The American version uses parfait cream, ice cream and flavored gelatin in a clear glass. It’s then topped with whipped cream, fruit, and tasty liquers.  The original French version of the parfait uses sugar, syrup, cream and eggs.
