Everyone seems to have the idea that all snacks have to consist of junk food. By junk food, we mean chips, fries, cake, and ice cream, just to mention a few. Now if you are someone who is looking to eat a bit healthier, chances are you haven’t taken the plunge because you don’t want to be stuck snacking on lettuce. Now you aren’t the only person who thinks this. Some so many people share this misunderstanding with you and for good reason. Healthy eating is often associated with green foods, well mostly vegetables but there are a few tasty healthy snacks that you can enjoy.

For starters, you need to know that not all healthy foods are green. This means that you don’t have to feel like a rabbit eating leafy greens all the time. There are several other healthy snacks for you to enjoy. When it comes to snacks, you are probably looking for something small that you can nibble on throughout the day. This is where nuts come in. Several different nuts are healthy and tasty. This includes peanuts, almonds, and cashews. The great thing about nuts is you can have them roasted, spiced, and salted. This adds loads of flavor to your nuts.

Now if you have a nut allergy you will be pleased to know that there are alternatives for you that you can enjoy. One of which is chickpeas. You may already be familiar with chickpeas because they are in hummus. But what you might not know is that they make for a great healthy snack. All you have to do is roast and spice them. Now if you don’t have time to roast your chickpeas, you can buy them roasted. If you have a sweet tooth, then you will love some dark chocolate. That’s right, chocolate can be a healthy snack. However, instead of milk chocolate, you should go with dark chocolate.
