Holiday Treats to Bake
Holiday season is upon us. And we all know what that means- lots of treats! Endless supplies of cookies and icecreams, and lots of other sweets. Want to have cake for breakfast? Go ahead! There are absolutely no judgments when it comes to eating habits during the holidays. Any weight that you put on can be dealt with once the holidays are over. One of the most loved holiday treats are cookies. Here’s an easy to follow recipe that you can use to make the most chewy and chocolatey cookies to devour over the holidays.
Here are the ingredients you will need:
- Flour
- Sugar- brown and white
- Baking soda
- Egg
- Vanilla extract
- Butter
- Chocolate chunks
Start by sorting all the dry ingredients. 1¾ cup of flour, 1½ cup of sugar- divided equally between white and brown sugar, and ½ tsp of baking soda. Next melt 1 cup of butter over heat and add the sugar mixture to it. Beat together, and then add in 1 egg and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Once the mixture is smooth, add in flour and baking soda. The last ingredient to add will be chocolate chunks. You will approximately need 1 cup of chocolate chunks but if you want to add more, go ahead!
Let the cookie batter rest in the fridge for a few hours. It will give it a toffee-like taste. When you want to bake the cookies, preheat the oven. Scoop out spoonfuls of cookie dough and place on parchment paper. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until the edges are brown. Take them out of the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy them with a cold glass of milk, while you are cozied up on a warm couch!
