July is a wonderful month for many reasons. First of all, the weather is absolutely perfect for a picnic. Also, we get to celebrate July 4th, which is basically an excuse to go to the beach and have a BBQ. But believe it or not, Independence Day is not the only food-friendly holiday during this warm weather month. Here are some national food holidays in July which you probably didn’t know about.

We’ve always loved celebrating Independence Day, but we didn’t know that July 4th was a national food holiday as well. You might think that this day would be devoted to celebrating foods like coleslaw, watermelon, and honey-barbequed spared ribs (yum.) But actually, this foodie holiday is centered around a dish that has nothing to do with American independence – Caesar salad.

Is there anything more delicious than a good old bowl of macaroni n cheese? We think not. Which is why we’ve officially dubbed July 7th the most wonderful day of the year. Any day that celebrates this classic pasta shape has got to be protected at all costs. Honestly, we’re not sure why it isn’t a federal holiday already. The world would be a better place if we were all required to stay home from work and eat mac n cheese once a year.
July 13: National French Fries Day
If we had to decide on the perfect comfort food, it would be a pretty hard choice. From creamy mashed potatoes to mom’s tuna casserole (you know it’s true,) there are plenty of foods that fit this category. But after a really rough day, there’s nothing we’d rather scarf down than an extra-large order of french fries, served alongside some ketchup, of course.
