Thirty eight year old Marcin Zarnecki, a partially sighted man was told that he didn’t have much more time left before loosing his sight completely and going blind. He suffers from an eye disease and has 50 percent vision in one eye, while in the other is completely blind.
So he decided to make his life-long dream come true while he still has some sight, and cycled 434 miles to see the sea of Croatia. He didn’t have enough money for a plane or train ticket, and he had no time to waste.
Marcin was met with great interest by locals upon his arrival in Croatia, even becoming somewhat of a celebrity. People have offered to put him up their homes after learning that he was sleeping in a tent.
Despite all the out pour of generous offers, he might not even need any of them, since a campaign on Facebook has been started to get home back home in an easier way. He’s been so inspiring for so many people that they’ve been raising money for him to get to the Plitvice Lakes National Park.
Upon returning, he might also have a whole lot more job opportunities. Until now, he has struggled to find work to match up with his musical talents, however he is now finally being taken seriously and will be performing a concert in Warsaw.
