Planning The Perfect Movie Night

The pandemic has changed the way we spend our time. We’ve all had to learn how to get a bit more creative with what we’ve got. But staying in doesn’t have to be boring. Whether you’re planning a date with a loved one, a fun night with the kids, or just a chilled evening with your friends, we’re here to help you plan the perfect movie night. The first thing to do is set a date, this way you and your attendees can have something to look forward to and talk about in anticipation. You can even make some personalized movie tickets to hand out when people confirm they’re coming. Pick a movie that’s appropriate for the crowd, maybe something romantic for a date, or family-friendly for the kids.

You’ll want to set up your chosen location to give it a movie theater feel, a bit of a step up from watching TV like any other night. Maybe consider investing in or borrowing a projector from someone; providing a larger screen will make the evening more fun. Fairy lights and mood lighting would make a date that bit more magical, and don’t forget to provide comfy seating with lots of cushions and blankets. If you’re looking for a more chilled vibe with friends, or for kids, why not build a fort? If you can get the ceiling high enough, you can even bring the TV screen inside.

No movie experience is complete without snacks! Make up a big batch of popcorn just before your guests arrive, so they’ll be greeted with the smell as soon as they walk in. More movie night snacks include hot dogs, nachos and cheesy fries. Don’t forget to get candies and chocolates for when the sweet tooth strikes. It’s a good idea to cut up some vegetable sticks and some fruit to provide healthy options too. Finally, you’ll want to have some drinks at hand, and a thermos full of hot cocoa will be a crowd-pleaser on this cozy night in.
