Strangely Cute Animals You Probably Didn’t Know Exist

The animal kingdom is quite literally a wild place. Most of us don’t realize just how many species exist on the same planet as us. Out of 1,367,555 identified non-insect animal species that live on Earth today, how many do you think you know? Here is a collection of unique, strange and often unheard of animals that you should meet!

Pink Fairy Armadillo

The pink fairy armadillo is the smallest species of armadillo and was first spotted in 1825 by Richard Harlan. It is a desert-adapted animal endemic to central Argentina.

Sunda Flying Lemur

This little guy is not what he seems to be. The Sunda flying lemur is, in fact, not a lemur at all. It also can’t flu! It is, though, one of the best fliding colugo in the world.

Aye-Aye

The first thing you need to know about the aye-ayes is an endangered species. They can be found only on the island of Madagascar. Many natives believe the aye-aye are an omen of bad luck and kill them on the spot. Today they are protected by law. The aye-aye are related to humans, chimpanzees, and apes!

Tufted Deer

The tufted deer can simply be described as the cutest type of deer ever. This species lives in mountainous forests of Myanmar and central parts of China.
