The Most Colorful City Ever

In recent years, Cape Town is one of the world’s most popular travel destinations, and it’s pretty clear why. South Africa’s capital is one of the most interesting cities in the world and is known for its unique history, modern culture, and its delicious world-renowned cuisine. However, unless you’ve been to the city or have read some travel blogs about it, you might not know that Cape Town has some of the most colorful sites in the world. From its funky neighborhoods to its eye-catching beaches, Cape town has some seriously vibrant and colorful hangouts that are definitely a must-see.

One of Cape Town’s most beloved and popular neighborhoods, Bo-Kaap is full of brightly-colored architecture in all shades of the rainbow and is truly the perfect place to spend an afternoon wandering around. Visitors can take in the town’s charming colorful homes and cobblestone streets while taking the perfect pictures to capture the experience. The unique colors of the buildings are obviously very attractive, but there is actually a deeper reason behind them. Apparently, they were painted this way to symbolize the freedom of the homeowners who were allowed to buy these properties after the abolition of slavery.

Everyone loves to hit the beach when they’re on vacation, and Muizenberg Beach will definitely not disappoint. Apart from its azure shores, this beach is a major attraction for locals and tourists alike due to its rows of rainbow-colored beach houses. This coastal town is the perfect getaway after a few days in the city and is only around 30 minutes from central Cape Town. It also happens to be a popular surfing spot.

Like every major city in the world, Cape Town has its share of street markets. And like everything else about the city, they’re super colorful! Frequented by residents and visitors alike, these are the perfect places to hunt for handmade crafts, antiques, and of course, fresh local produce.
