Things to Avoid
More is not always better. Sometimes, in order to be successful, you need to reduce; give up some things and habits, and undergo a drastic yet realistic transformation. Everyone has a different definition of success, in my case, I define success as being happy and satisfied, being at peace with yourself and looking at your life with pride. You may define success differently however, some things are universal. This is a list of some things which upon giving up, you will pave your road to success, no matter how you define it. Some of these things you can give up instantly while others may take some time and dedication.
1. Give up on an unhealthy lifestyle – ‘Health is wealth’, and you have to spend your entire life in your body. If you are unhealthy, achieving your dreams and aspirations becomes very difficult, and even becomes of secondary importance as your priority is gaining health. So choose to prioritize your health before you are forced to. Your aspirations even change with your health status. A healthy diet and physical activity should be the key steps.
2. Give up your excuses – Take responsibility and stop shifting blame. Once you stop making excuses, you do not make the same mistake again and fix the problem at hand.
3. Give up multitasking – Focus is the key to success. Focus on one thing at a time so you may be fully satisfied with your effort and output. Human brains are not designed for multitasking and it reduces efficiency and productivity as well.
4. Give up your need to be liked – There are all sorts of people in the world, some may agree with your values and ideas, while others may fully oppose them. Be authentic and honest, and give up your impossible wish to please everyone.
