Three Inspiring Ways to Create an Eco-Friendly, Zero-Waste Lifestyle
Caring for the planet is essential. We need to give back to a place that has selflessly been home for so long. The most manageable care routines are crafted around the 3 R’s: reuse, reduce and recycle. But this article focuses on three inspirational reuse tactics that make caring for the environment convenient.
One item that can be easily reused is a glass fruit jam jar, or any mason jar, for that matter. Once you have utilized the contents, thoroughly rewash the bottle. Now heat some water in a pan and close the heat before it comes to a boil. Place the jar in the warm water and leave it there until the glued label comes off. And there you have it – a storage can, good as new, to keep your unpackaged produce.

Another item that can be reused is the dreaded plastic bag. If you have some lying around at home from your grocery runs, then instead of throwing them away and purchasing new ones, keep them in your car trunk for the next time you have to stop by the grocery store. Here the “reduce” tactic Is also implemented because instead of purchasing cloth tote bags which account for some waste, you are entirely eliminating waste by making use of what is already consumed and would have been alternately discarded.
Swapping books and expensive computing equipment with complex plastics is another great reuse tactic. This way, you save money and create a community committed to zero-waste goals that can, in turn, inspire more people. Similarly, shopping for preloved clothes or thrifting clothes also falls into the same reuse tactic where first you reduce the purchase of new articles and then reuse what is already consumed.
